Privacy

We have kept this site simple, and this page is short because there is not much to tell. Here is what happens to information about you when you read Essential Branch, use a tool or write to us.

Hosting and server logs

Essential Branch is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the page address, the time, your browser and device type, and the page that linked you here. These logs are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. We see totals, such as how many times a page was viewed and roughly where visitors came from, not individual people.

Web fonts

The typefaces on our pages are served by our host along with the rest of the site, not by a separate font service.

The tools

The dilution calculator, blend builder, oil safety lookup and nutrient lookup do their calculations in your browser using data that loads with the page. There are no accounts, and we do not keep a record of what you enter. If a tool places your choices in the page address so that you can share or bookmark a result, that address is recorded in the server logs like any other page request.

What we do not have

No user accounts, no comments, no advertising and no newsletter at launch. We do not sell or rent any information about our readers.

Email

If you email us at contact@e.essentialbranch.com, your message is received and stored by our email provider, acting as our data processor. We use your address and message only to reply and, if you report an error, to keep a record of the correction. Please do not send us personal health details we do not need.

Links to other sites

Our pages link to sources such as government agencies and research journals. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which apply once you leave Essential Branch.

Your requests

To ask what we hold about you, or to have an email you sent us deleted, write to contact@e.essentialbranch.com. We will reply as soon as we can, and within 30 days.

If we change how the site handles information, for example by adding a newsletter, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
