Supplement Guides

These guides answer the questions people tend to ask before they buy a supplement: which form to choose, how much to take, when to take it, and what the research actually shows. Each one draws on primary sources, including NIH Office of Dietary Supplements fact sheets, MedlinePlus, systematic reviews and clinical trials, and lists them at the end of the page. Where the evidence is thin or funded by the people selling the product, we say so. Every guide also has a section on who should be careful, because medicines, pregnancy and kidney health change the picture. Use the nutrient RDA lookup to check recommended amounts for your age and life stage, and talk with a clinician or pharmacist before starting anything new.
